Looking towards the summit of...

Looking towards the summit of Flattop Mountain from the slopes of Hallet Peak, showing that it is, in fact, pretty flat!
The summit is somewhere above the slab avalanche that came off the south facing slopes, and extends flatly back beyond what is visible in this shot.
The Dragon's Tooth and Tail Couloirs are about 1/2 mile off to the right of that slide. The Mummy Range is in the distance.

Just Left-

-of the slab fall is where we descended to return to the car via the Tindel gorge after climbing Hallet. Of course, it was summer, 2002 in a drought year and of course no snow was present. Even so, the location of this slab avalanche certainly caught my eye. Great shot!
