Hasn't voted | Thank you very much for looking at my new profile photo. The photo taken from Concordia. For the trekkers and climbers, the trek along the Baltoro Glacier culminates in a camp in the 15180 foot high Concordia, a meeting place of gigantic glaciers that may well deserve the dubious soubriquent 'Crossroads of the World'. Baltoro, its surface riven with crevasses and pitted with corrugations that from afar look like the rutted tracks made by some monstrous vehicle, has many tributary glacier. At Concordia three component glaciers meet, forming the proscenium for the most spectacular natural theatre in the world. Within a radius of 25 kilometers, stand ten of the world's thirty highest peaks. | | Posted Jan 14, 2009 12:30 am |
