| Upper Coalpit | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
This is considered one of the premiere backcountry skiing destinations in the Wasatch, yet is a bit elusive due to the length and elevation gain associated with all of its approaches.
Another of the Wasatch's premiere lines, the Y Couloir lurks in the lower left of this photo.

Voted 10/10 | I've never seen a shot of Coalpit like this before, nice contribution! Where did you take this from? I gotta ski that stuff sometime (both Coalpit and the Y). | | Posted Apr 9, 2008 6:33 pm |

Hasn't voted | isn't it gorgeous?! that's the view you get when going up the Broads Fork Twins, and (though I was doing something cool that day) it sure made me want to be there!! | | Posted Apr 9, 2008 6:46 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Ah, I thought it kind of looked like you were looking more across at it than down on it, so unless you're talking about about climbing the Twins from Lisa Falls, I didn't realize it looked like this from up on the summit ridge (last time I went to the Twins I'd never heard of Coalpit). | | Posted Apr 9, 2008 7:08 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Of all my days in the Wasatch BC, I have not made this one yet. Very Nice Photo.

Hasn't voted | Tis a gem for sure. Safe travels out there. Seems like things are beginning to shape up nicely, though Coalpit seems a likely candidate for a bit more of a waiting period. I ll be doing it sometime this year though, for sure.
Take Care man and thanks for the compliment on the photo.
