"East Ledge" on W. Northgate Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
"East Ledge" on W. Northgate Peak
This is the approximate route of the Class 4 "East Ledge" on West Northguard Peak. It ascends from the deep trough at the base of the east face. Just follow it up and diagonal to the left, all the way to the summit. In general, you want to stick to the crack; however it gets bushy and steep in places, and it's necessary to diverge onto the "face" to the left. The "face" is really just the floor of the ledge (which runs outward along the crack the entire way, just about), but it also gets quite steep and exposed. However, it sports nice jug. Routefind generally upward and to the right when you can, and you top out directly at the summit. Huzzah!
