Looking southwest from The...
Looking southwest from The Four Horsemen formation. The plateau in the foreground is the portion of the Misery Ridge above The Dihedrals. The spires immediately beyond (center of photo) are The Christian Brothers complex. Large formation looming on the left in the background is the Smith Rock Group. Note that this photo shows the standard descent route toward the east side trail. The rap line starts in the obvious right-leaning corner/crack (pitch two of Cinamon Slab) at center of photo and reaches the ground in two single rope pitches (50m will do). Alternatively, a single double rope rap will bring you directly to the ground from anchors atop the flat block (just left of the crack rap line mentioned). For those interested, the somewhat famous Karate Crack (10a) can be seen left of center of photo near the bottom (January 18, 2004).
