lcarreauTectonic activity?

Voted 10/10

Nice upward-dipping strata! Toponga Canyon
really sounds familiar to me. Isn't that
where singer Joni Mitchell used to live? I'm
hoping and praying that CA doesn't suffer
through a lot of wildfires this year. Either
that, or I'll just stay away from the
television and newpapers. Do you know of a
nice cave I can live in, Guido??? :)

Well...in the 60s many artist and free-spirits made Topanga Canyon their home, including Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Jim Morrison and many more. It also was the home of Charles Manson for some time. It actually is a very beautiful place right next door to LA.
Wildfires...in fact word is that this season has the potential to become one of the worst fire seasons ever. We had relatively large amounts of precipitation earlier this year which led to a stronger and faster growth of the vegetation in our local mountains....which all can be fuel for the things to come. I really don't even dare to think about it.
