Mystery Hut on Grand Canyon Rim [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Mystery Hut on Grand Canyon Rim
Approaching the odd beehive-shaped stone hut on north rim of Grand Canyon, 2-3 miles east of Toroweap overlook. It is about 8 feet high with small slot in bottom and hole in top, with metal and log remains of a bed/bench inside.

to this being a grainery.
Look how flat the surrounding
landscape is. And there's a
trail descending to the river?
It would be the ideal spot to
gather and store grain. Also,
a great place to hunt, if there's
a water source nearby. :)

If you were to investagate
further, you might even find
an 'agave-roasting-pit' where
the Native Americans baked the
bread after grinding the grain
into flour. Nice photograph!!!
