I had seen what looked like...
I had seen what looked like dog prints in the snow about 2000 feet. Then I saw fresh scat with some fur in it so I wondered about a coyote. When I got to the summit and looked down, Wile E. Coyote himself was watching me from the bottom of the summit meadow.
