... thats a strong standing!! but come on jeans in winter???? it's not smart to wear them when there is a chance to be exposed to cold and get wet.... they get very "chili" when wet.

I was on Touchal that day. The weather was very bad and it was blizzard. I'm wonder how good was weather in Darabad. any way:

COTTON KILLS IN WINTER!!!!

yea, it's the exact statement I've read somewhere about mountaineering in winter. For a peak it's not important what month it is. A mountain has its own rule. The weather may turn bad as fast as you can not react n descend
I remember death of Afkham on Touchal summit in Spring (Ordibehesht) of last year.
Anyway i think if going to Tehran's north mountains, and you'r wearing jeans, at least bring extra pants (a water proof and a polar one). you may not to use it but who knows if it save your life some day... You know that Darabad has serious winds sometimes.
here is my gift to you:

it gives you some clues and tips how to deal with weather.
