A view from the rock gardens on the slopes of Cheaha Mountain, Alabama's highest peak. Lake Cheaha, along with the ridge of mountains extending to the southwest through the state, can be seen. Spring was in full-swing, but you can see along the mountain ridges, that the green of spring ends before the top of the mountains. We had started climbing from the lake and now were only another 15 minute walk from Alabama's highest point. Surely, a remarkable place for Alabama.
