From the col, this is a view up the South Ridge/Face of Black. It's just class 3 scrambling. Only the last hop through an eroded notch to obtain the summit rocks is exposed to the point of feeling like class 4. Of course, you could make it harder on yourself climbing up this ridge and get yourself on class 4 (or harder) terrain. This would especially be possible in a whiteout. Photo taken Oct. 6, 1996.
