Monsoon "shadow" by the Kali Gandaki

The draught of the lands around the upper Kali Gandaki river is caused by the "monsoon shadow": all monsoon rains are stopped by the huge massifs of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, placed south of this spot. October 1998
