Bristlecone near TH [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Bristlecone near TH
Needle Benchmark in the Home Mountain Range of utah. This tree was around the 9300 feet mark and it looks like someone did some surgery on a couple of its limbs. However, i couldn't resist the shot. There were several other Bristlecone trees nearby but none had this symnetry. There is a nice young group of Bristlecone trees near the summit of Needle Benchmark. Well, by young, they might only be several hundred years old. I truly love these special trees.

I found that rather strange but my guess is some idiot was looking for firewood and decided that this bristlecone was fair game.
Despite the lopping off of limbs, this tree still had such nobility that i had to get this picture of it.
