Blue Cornflower
Blue Cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus)are also called Basket Flowers and are native to Europe. They belong to the plant family Asteraceae. In the Low Beskid, they often grow in the crop fields and form spectacular displays along with corn poppies.

of my childhood when the grain fields in Denmark would be full of them. Nowadays they spray against them, and they have grown much rarer. A beautiful flower, often used to compare the colour of a girl's eyes with (few can live up to that)!

There are still areas in the Low Beskid where they don't spray the fields and you can find lots of cornflowers, poppies and chamomile in them. Greetings, Henryk.
