| Green tunnel | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Alternating between forest and open meadows, the southward track of the Grove Creek trail is like walking in a green tunnel. Just after Indian Campground (not a normal campground), there is a fork in the trail. The left fork takes you to the Timpanoeeke road and the right fork is a joy of a trail that leads across a meadow and then up into this "green tunnel" area for awhile before coming back to open meadows and expansive views.

Next time you drink from an AZ
water-hole, you might want to
check for snakes first!

Hasn't voted | You are right, the Ozarks. I spent two years in the Ozarks (Ft.Leonard Wood) The only thing missing are the chiggers, ticks, copperheads and humidity. This area is in full beauty right now (the flanks of Mt. Timp) BTW, that snake is like the one we saw, so we saw a bullsnake (aka corn snake).

Voted 10/10 | Yes, and let's not forget about
California. They're referred to as
'Pine Snakes' there.
