These are Wild Horses of Cold Creek.
The encounter took place below Willow Peak and these are just two most curious mares of a much larger herd.
I took this photo a long time ago back in the summer of 2004 and just recently rediscovered it by accident.
Spring Mountains, Nevada.

Voted 10/10 | song written about a 'Chestnut Mare'
by the Byrds back in early 1971. It
was a cool song. Nice picture to be
found by an accident, Anya! | | Posted Jun 18, 2008 10:45 am |

Voted 10/10 | The song was written by Roger McGuinn.
I have the CD, but can only remember the first three lines:
"Always alone, never with a herd.
Prettiest mare I've ever seen,
You'll have to take my word."
My wife wants me to keep my day job. :)
Here's a LINK to youtube. ENJOY! | | Posted Jun 18, 2008 11:35 pm |

Voted 10/10 | No problem. Wild horses have always
been a favorite of mine; and looks like
your horses are popular with lots of
folks. I wonder if THEY remember the song? | | Posted Jun 19, 2008 10:13 pm |
