Funny, this photo was taken from the exact point where I had to stop my ascent. I hadn't felt anything in my feet since leaving camp, as the night had been exceptionally cold and I was ill-equipped. It took more than an hour and costed me the summit, but I got blood back in the toes at the end...

Ow, cold feet are no fun. I had that happen on my first climb on Ampato, stepped in a glacier swamp at about 20,000'. Had to turn around soon after with one wet and numb foot. My partner warmed it on his stomach when he caught up to me after summiting.
