Mitrewort flowers [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Mitrewort flowers
Small-flowered mitrewort (Mitrella stauropetala, literally "with cross-shaped petals") is fairly common in the Wasatch. The genus is named after its seed capsules which, to the eye of Linnaeus, looked kind of similar to mitre headdress of Catholic bishops.

Common as I said but commonly overlooked, because one could barely see the delicate beauty of its tiny flowers without a magnifying glass!
