Non-Technical Crab Eyes Route [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Non-Technical Crab Eyes Route

This image of the route up Crab Eyes in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, OK, was actually shot just below the boulders that must be shimmied between during the ascent (off the image to the right). It shows that final bit of route up to the base of the summit boulders. There's a large, deep gap between the slanted rock that you climb up and the rocks that are behind it. They're large enough to swallow a person whole, so exercise care. Imaged in Jun 08.
