Icy Athabasca floodplains [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Icy Athabasca floodplains
Frozen floodplain of the Athabsca river. Early morning sunrays create a little mist. Outside air temperature was -19 degrees Celsius! Taken close to Sunwapta pass, approaching from the north (looking back north as well). Strange slopes in the distance, typical of the Rockies: steep on one side, smooth slope on the other.

Thanks! It was easy taking good photos there, just about anywhere you point your camera lens would be a great shot ...

Cheers,

Rick
