Jan 30-31 or thereabouts they had the biggest snowstorm there in 18 years which accounts for all the snow. It was melting out pretty quick though the week I was there.

When you said you took this picture at 9,000ft I had to remind myself how high this Pico is!!! It certainly gives you a excellent perspective of what 9,400' of vertical relief looks like. Great shot. When was it taken??

Took this one last Thursday, Feb 5, 2004. Yeah, they sure do grow the volcanoes big down there, don't they?

I was wondering how the trip turned out, read your trip report and had a few good laughs. Breathtaking mountain....

Thanks. Glad you liked the TR. Had a good time despite my musings on the ripoffs. :- )

Gorgeous shot, Brian! The photo shows great color contrasts.

Your trip report was great too. Sleepless nights, plush accommodations in a hut, feces, vomiting, and swindlers are all marks of an epic trip! What more could you possibly ask for? ;-)

Thanks for the nice words. And oh yes, the memories, the poo, the rides that never show up. All good stuff (in retrospect).
