Monument Plant [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Monument Plant
The Monument Plant (also "Elkweed" or "Green Gentian") can supposedly get 6-8 feet high. This one was only about three feet tall. It still made for an impressive display.

Imaged in mid-June 2008 along the Blacktail Deer Creek Trail, north of the junction with the Rescue Creek Trail. This is the last stretch of grass-sagebrush before you descend into the closer and wetter confines of Blacktail Creek, with a different set of flora.
