From the 7800' saddle between Points 8779 and 7982 along the ridgeline north of Route Creek Pass.

You must, unfortunately, go over Point 8779 to get to Teton Peak. The good news-- the map is labeled incorrectly and the peak is actually about 8175' (which corresponds with what the contour lines say).
