February 15, 2004: An avalanche in Herman Gulch almost claims a skier's life. The lucky guy was rescued with CPR by one of his companions. The incident happened just east of the Citadel, seen here in this picture from Mount Sniktau's southwest ridge, on this date. The area surrounding the Citadel is notorious for avalanche activity and should be avoided during the winter months.
