Overlook Mountain and Heather Lake
From here, pick a route that looks good to you. It is easier going if you stay right of the summit. It is steep in places, but it doesn't ever have to be any harder than Class 3.

How many overnight trips did you take in the park?

Actually, I just did two over three weeks; I spent one night backpacking in the Rocky Mountain Front and two at Granite Park Chalet in Glacier. My nights here in the Gallatins were spent in a cabin close to the trailhead; I started very early each day so I could beat any crowds and catch the early light. I did once spend the night camped at this lake, though, and I can tell you it's one fine place to wake up (as long as the Off is handy).
