The left side of the stream tumbles down from the lake at the foot of the Mystery Glacier, grey with glacial flour. The clear side is meltwater from the snowfields of upper Deception Basin. The streams merge to form Deception Creek and flow just like this through the lower basin before falling to the Dosewallips River. 7/14/08
