Tundra Ridges Leading to Beartooth Butte [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Tundra Ridges Leading to Beartooth Butte
This is the ridgeline leading from Clay Butte along the horsehoe-shaped ridge system connecting it with Beartooth Butte. This view is from shortly after the wilderness boundary following a brief but steep hike up to the ridgeline at 10,000'. Just about every step of the route to Beartooth Butte is through terrain like this, and as far as hiking goes, it's hard to imagine anything more pleasant.
