Old Priord Pass Trail [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Old Priord Pass Trail
near second switchback beyond the treeline. The faded historical constructed trail goes SW here, into a series of short switchbacks, followed by a very long upward traverse to the right ... where we lost it for good. Although the word is that a carefull observer could follow the fading track all the way to the ridgeline.

The trick to finding the upper part is that it swings quite a bit west right under the pass and it's easy to miss since you are expecting it to be more direct. At least that's how it was in the early 1990's, I wouldn't be surprised if it has faded much since then.

Yes Scott, we were following this very Westerly long switchback and it just kept fading more and more and we could never spot where it might have turned East, or if perhaps it still continued on West. It's just a skip and a hop to the ridge from there anyway, but I just love old trails & wish we spotted the rest of it!

There's an even older one between Allsop and Norice Lakes. Even in the early 1990's it was quite faded.
