sore knee route [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
sore knee route
The Williams Lake route up and down Wheeler has much to offer: short in distance, speedy descent, great scenic views. many marmots, great flowers in July, big horn sheep, etc. However, one must deal with close to 2000 ft. of relentless gain from lake to ridge , scree ,(some of which can be avoided) and sore toes and knees coming down. An extra pair of socks to be put on before you descend can help cushion the toes. 7-30-08
