Redstem Stork's-bill in April [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Redstem Stork's-bill in April
on Tolcats Trail. This tiny cousin of geraniums is among the very first Wasatch foothill flowers to bloom, and it continues blooming into the summer, sometimes even into the fall, even as its spring flowers turn into outsize crane-bill seed capsules. Native of Europe and Siberia, it was introduced to North America centuries ago, and has become fairly common in the South-West.
