The photo was taken from a roadside cafe on the Karakoram Highway. The glacier descending from the mountain is the Ghulmet Glacier. The prominent ridge left of the glacier is the North (Japanese) Ridge which has been climbed twice. The ridge ascending from the right-hand side of the photo to the summit is the unclimbed North-East Spur.
