chamois on a snowfield
There live about two dozens of chamois (rupicapra rupicapra tatrica) in the vicinity of Jahnaci stit. You may not see them on other Tatras' hikes, but you will see them at Jahnaci stit hike.

Hi Ivona, yes, they like this area, because of vicinity of Belianske Tatry, their major area. The closure of Belianske Tatry resulted in multiplying of the number of chamois there and around. We enjoy seeing them every time at Jahnaci stit :)

We've met not less than 56 chamois all together on the way to Jahnaci Stit last year :

Wow, you have absolutely wonderful pictures there! Not only of 56 chamois, but of mountains, last passage to Jahnaci with crampons and Baranie rohy next day in exciting weather. Lucky you! I wish you the same autumn in Tatras this year, cheers, Tomas :)

Wait, this weather will come later this year. You live close to Tatras. Watch carefully weather forecast every day, and you'll catch it also this year! Cheers, Tomas :)

As close as you from Czech Republic ! Wroclaw is some 4-6h far from Tatras (depending on which side, and above all the traffic...)
