Purple Monkey-Flowers
Mimulus lewisii. Not many people take a close sideways look at them; then they would notice that this Mimulus species also has a trail of dots showing the pollinators the way in... an understated version of the much more conspicuous rows of dots which gave its yellow sister species, M. guttatus, its name.
