Cardinal Flower
Lobelia cardinalis (Cardinal Flower aka Scarlet Lobelia)
- a pretty August bloomer of Red Rocks, Nevada.
It favors moist and shady slopes and sunny streambanks.

I believe its named after the hood or feather
of a cardinal. Awesome specimen of a beautiful
Nevadan flower!
