On the approach to Chair Peak, off to the right (north) is the massif bulk of Big Snow Mountain (6,680 ft). I've been to within 200 vertical feet of the top of that peak but we ran out of time. Now I'm wishing I had gone for it since it is now harder to get to the peak due to the proposed permanent closure of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road. Feb. 22, 2004.
