Ellen ascends the notoriously awful "great slope" section on the South Ridge route of South Maroon Peak. This is higher up on the slope, in yet another shallow gully the route crosses. The scenery is spectacular, the climbing is horrid, and even worse on the descent. Consider yourself warned.
