Picture Puzzle from Chocolate Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Picture Puzzle from Chocolate Peak
Picture Puzzle Peak as seen from the top of Chocolate Peak, John Muir Wilderness, Inyo National Forest, CA, August 25, 2008

Notice the Krummholz pines lying low on top of Chocolate Peak, when we were up here it was very windy so it's easy to see why the trees must lie low in order to survive!

"I am in love with this world. I have nestled lovingly in it. I have climbed its mountains, roamed its forests, sailed its waters, crossed its deserts, felt the sting of its frosts, the oppression of its heats, the drench of its rains, the fury of its winds, and always have beauty and joy waited upon my goings and comings."   --John Burroughs
