Voted 10/10 | Certainly a candidate for pic of the day. Very unusual light play and a nice capture. | | Posted Oct 18, 2008 8:56 am |
| Marcsoltan | An amazing photo | |
Voted 10/10 | I believe it's late in the afternoon and there was haze in the air.
Great shot, great timing. | | Posted Oct 31, 2008 11:29 pm |

Hasn't voted | I was driving into Lone pine from the south to van camp in the Alabama Hills for the night. So the shadows drew me to pull over. I'm putting up a pic of the Whitney area from the same sequence. Not as dramatic as this one but interesting enough. | | Posted Nov 1, 2008 1:11 am |

Hasn't voted | awesome shot...If the photo was taken Sept 07, was the haze in the air due to the S. Cal fires? | | Posted Dec 1, 2008 7:57 pm |
 | | Noondueler | Re: magic light conditions | |
Hasn't voted | No fires. The huge Zaca fire from Santa Barbara that was blowing big over the state was over by then. It was just the right light at the right time. | | Posted Dec 1, 2008 8:37 pm |
| alpinedon | you're right | |
Hasn't voted | wow! that does look alot like mine...I believe the reason the light is doing that on mine is the sun hitting the Crook (Or Bend, not sure) Glacier on the east side. | | Posted Jan 7, 2009 1:43 am |

Voted 7/10 | This shot could be great like others in your gallery but the photo editing is really too evident. Here the camera you have used don't give you so much room to light up so much the shadows (the mountain). It have a lot of chroma noise and, beside this, the selection is too approximate. You could use a noise reduction utility like Noise Ninja, Dfine or Neat Image to reduce it. In my opininion the colours in your photo gallery are excessive and with wrong hue, but at the same time some images are really nice... and you appear like an impressionist! | | Posted Jan 27, 2009 7:50 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for your constructive critique! I am not a skilled photographer and I don't see anything clearly up close without glasses. So I really don't know what the shots look like until I put them up on the computer. I take them flat using a relatively cheap camera and yes I do get carried away with the editing sometimes, but don't think I would be able to get a good take in the field. This shot here "Light play" was a snap shot taken with a Lieca lens on a 500 dollar Panasonic Lumix and I'm suprised it gets the top vote for now! Thanks for your votes and you have some of the finest photos on SP! | | Posted Feb 18, 2009 12:33 am |

Voted 7/10 | I like almost all the Panasonic-Leica productions, as your FZ-20, they are nice objects indeed. I have here the FZ-50, but they have too croma noise, also at low ISO and the so called "Venus Engine" create strong artefacts. The FZ-28 begin to correct partly these defects and is more near to a good photographic tool. | | Posted Feb 18, 2009 10:02 am |
