of one of my favorite places on the planet. I was also there during the fires this year and it created some interesting lighting. However, I wasn't real fond of all the ash falling on the tent and in the snowmelt.

My wife and I stayed at Island lake on the 1st - 3rd, I looked at your Gannett trip report, we definitely have some of the same photos and probably exchanged a hello on the trail. You had way better weather on summit day than I did last year!

We were there from the 31st - 3rd so I'm sure we crossed paths at some point. We're heading back next year for a more leisurely stay in Titcomb Basin...such a beautiful area.

Thanks Dave.
Are you going to try for the Big G. or Fremont? set aside as many days as you can, you'll hate to leave if the weather is at all decent!

No specifics yet on where were going, but the plan is 5-6 days to see as much as we can.

the beauty of the place, Mister Ape!

The "Windys" are an incredible area that many
people tend to under-appreciate or ignore.

Outstanding composition!!!

caused by the smoke. It makes the photos more unique. I love looking at that area, I must go soon.

It's not really that far from Bakersfield but beware, once you've been there, you'll always want to be there..
