One of the most scenic drives I've ever seen is the road up to Sunrise on the north side of Rainier. July 2005

Amazing how that stark blue-white can look so fierce when set as a backdrop to the greens. You would think the arctic with the mountains...but any place in the US from the rest of it.

The spot where that shot is taken is right where the road makes a 180-degree turn toward the mountain so that's your first big view of it...it really is quite striking how daunting the mountain appears.
