So true, especially good mid-morning snack when rafting Class IV and V rapids! Later I ripped open the wrapper and licked it too! Kathy

HIGH EXPEDITIONSCotopaxi?

Voted 10/10

I visited this area 3 years ago in CO. I wonder if it was named after Cotopaxi volcano in Ecuador.

High Expeditions - I never asked but wondered about the origin too. Were you there to climb or raft?

Thank you for the nice compliment about my Sand Dune picture. We were so lucky to get there after a rainstorm; so different from my trip in 2000. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos. You have some excellent pics also! Kathy

HIGH EXPEDITIONSSand Dunes..

Voted 10/10

Actually I stopped by on my way back from the Sand Dunes. Cotopaxi reminded me of the volcano I climb here in Ecuador.

I know somebody has to ask the tough questions
around here ...

Does the writing on the raft behind you say:
1-800- IN GOD WE TRUST ???

She was given "honorary" membership in the 60 & older group since she is almost there. I've added you to the list and if you have a profile pic of yourself, please add it to the gallery of golden oldies.

BigJordanok, so your gonna raft the grand canyon...

Voted 10/10

what would ya pick the upper (lees ferry-phantom ranch) or the lower portion (phantom ranch to whitmore wash)?? just outta curiosity? Or is the ole green river a better pick???

I would do the whole river if I had the time (and $). If not, each has pros and cons which you can read about on the net. If you're going for the classic rapid "Lava" then choose the Lower.

IF you're talking about the Green River in Utah, it's for day trips only I think. And there are other rivers I would choose rather than the Green for rapids and length.

If I am traveling to raft I want time on the river and some decent rapids. Maybe your criteria is different.
