JabberwockyExcellent shot!

Voted 10/10

You do nice photography. Keep up the outstanding work.

(Strange coincidence: I saw a similar photo on Wunderground the other day!

I also really liked "Snow on the Mustangs at Las Colinas" and "Sunset and Moonrise.")

Hehehe. Yep, I posted it on Wunderground too. The Mustangs was the first place I went to when it snowed. Not too much nature photography around here. :-)

The "Sunset and Moonrise" shot was just too good to pass up. Unfortunately I am too lazy to figure out how to take good moon shots with a digital camera. I am not even sure if it is possible. You can vote on your own photos at Wunderground so I gave myself a 10 for that flower shot. I guess someone else didn't like the fact that I did that so they voted it a 2 so the overall was a 6. Hehehe. I since then somehow voted for it again so the rating went up. Hahaha. Are you the one that voted it down? HAHAHA.

Thanks for the compliments.

Hey, what do you thing my popularity rating is on Prate and Prattle? LOL

I only dabble a bit with photography and know how hard it can be to take quality photos.

The "Mustangs at Las Colinas" is a fantastic sculpture to capture movement in that manner. The snow on them adds a strange "frozen in time" look.

The "Sunset and Moonrise" was very impressive to me, since I've tried unsuccessfully to take moon photos with an old 35mm. For some reason, even if the moon is huge and full, all I get is a small white blotch. I gave all your photos 10, so I'm not the culprit. Some people are just ornery and would give an Ansel Adams a 0.

As far as P&P goes, you must have a high rating, as you're the only person I know of that has inspired attack threads and poetry threads! LOL! Keep up the good work!

I am certainly no photographer. Lighting is the biggest key. If it's mid day my shots seem to come out ok, but in the early morning hours or in the evening too much contrast. I think photographers have to be patient too. I can't sit there all day just waiting for the right moment. I have to go explore other things.

Yea, a few liberals on P&P don't like me too much. LOL O well, they will get over it. It's just a message board. hgrapid seems to be mad at me now since I dared to ask him for a source even though he'll demand it from me if I fail to provide one.

This looks like an orchid to me (maybe a close relative) ... I could be way off, so does anyone know? I would love to see flowers like this in the wilderness. Beautiful picture. Cheers, Rachel

I actually made a valliant effort to find out what it was. The closest I could come was an Asiatic Dayflower. It looks similar but has 2 petals instead of 1. I am sure I am close. It has to be some sort of day flower.

Asiatic Dayflower Picture

I'll keep looking. There were fields of these little flowers.

The pictured flower has 2 petals as well. I have a picture that shows both petals more clearly, but unless people are actually interested I'm not going to post it due to repetition with this one (composition and angle are completely different, and it would go on a different page, but it's still the same kind of flower in the same area.)
