Voted 10/10 | I know the feeling from the times I have been to a completely new group of mountains, but there is an easy solution for this problem: buy a rather detailed map, such as 1:50.000 of the area (all of the Dolomites take up several such maps by Casa Editrice Tabacco, which may all be bought quite cheaply at the local supermarkets and sports stores etc.). Assuming that you know where north is, it is fairly easy to identify the different mountains on the map (the more famous, the larger letters), otherwise even a cheap compass is a great help. | | Posted Oct 27, 2008 10:54 am |
