| Huda Polica couloir | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |||||||||||
When ascending on Cima di Terrarossa / Špik Hude police from the south, just a few minutes below the top we reach the main ridge of Viš-Montaž group. There's the place, where the longest couloir of Julian Alps, named Huda Polica, comes up from Špranja valley. It is some 750 meters high, quite steep, so that it is best passable when filled with snow. In best conditions it is also possible to ski it down. The hardest places are just on top, where in summer steep, crumbly rocks are uncovered, requiring a very unsecure climbing. When covered with snow, the inclination there exceeds 45 degrees. This picture of course makes a false impression about its steepness. October, 2008. Comments [ Post a Comment ]
