Schwartz ledges and upper glacier. The saddle at top is the top of the Kain face route. We could see some small dots/climbers but didn't get in picture.

Hasn't voted | Thanks Larry. I wish the picture could convey the huge scale of things. We didn't go across the ledges because we were afraid of sloppy snow/high temperatures on the descent. The next day 3 guys went up and then could not come down the ledges because of soft snow. They rapelled the shattered face of that hanging glacier just above the top of the rock triangle. The double ropes did not reach to the rock and the ropes stuck so they had to downclimb the last 50 feet to the rock. I would not want to be on that broken serac face and be tugging on stuck ropes but they all got down safely. | | Posted Nov 21, 2008 11:44 pm |
