The correct name for the campground below and north of the Provo Peak west ridge is Rock Canyon. FYI the Squaw Peak Road has at least two gates on the north end. The first one (closed as of Nov. 25th, 2008) is .8 mile from Provo Canyon Road (Highway 189). The second one is about 4 miles further, near the turnoff to the Hope CG. When the gates are closed there is enough space in the middle for ATVs to drive through. I don't know if a Smart Car could squeeze through or not.
