One would think so. I suppose there are cavess underneath. The mountains - at least their bases - are made up from limestone. Therefore there is good reason to believe in the formation of karst. The surface, however, is still covered by meadows. Maybe in some ages it will look like the Altipiano di Pale de San Martino or like the Kanin Plateau.
