Monte Cimone / Strma pec [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Monte Cimone / Strma pec
From the NW, across Canal del Ferro, Monte Cimone / Strma peč is seen (close up) like a nice rocky dome. The wall left (in shadow) is high and almost vertical, it is called Sfonderat. The crest towards the west (right on the picture) is quite an unknown. There are summits, which get visited only by a few people every year - if at all. Only few descriptions in literature, endless opportunities for scrambling and more or less easy climbing. For harder climbs accesses to walls are quite remote. Autumn, 2008.

Thanks Hans!
Yes, from this side Monte Cimone / Strma peč looks very fine. Its northern side is of course the most beautiful, but when one drives into Dogna/Dunja valley, all eyes are turned towards Montaž, and anyway from below the N face you don't have such a nice overview.
Cheers!
