Moving rightwards onto easier ground after a short descent of the awkward buttress at the top of the Glacier Este (a.k.a Glaciares Orientales). Though not technically difficult (perhaps 40 metres traversing at Scottish Grade II-III), we were grateful we had brought a 20m rope with us; the runout below was considerable! Nov 2008.

Hasn't voted | We weren't quite as brave/foolhardy as you may think. Sensibly, we did each have an ice axe - a rather esoteric telescopic Stubai ice axe and one trekking pole apiece.
