above the crater on the horizon? At first
glimpse, Rainier's summit crater has changed
very little since 1984.

The inner depths of the crater is a different story. I'm assuming the caverns
beneath the crater are much larger now.

Hasn't voted

I believe that is Mt. Adams, but that's only a guess due to the fact I was facing south.

I've heard of people actually going inside the caverns on Rainier. Have you explored the caverns at all? Wish I would have done that when I was up there...next time!

Nope, I studied the maps & drawings in the
"great indoors." Carolyn Driedger of the USGS/Cascades Volcano Observatory has an
outstanding book entitled "A Visitor's Guide to Mount Rainier Glaciers."(1986)
